  • Garden Decoration: Gather ideas for incorporating ornamental elements, flea market finds, rustic heirlooms and re-purposed objects
  • Garden Art Projects: Make a rain gutter herb & flower garden, embellish terra cotta pots for spring planting (e.g. decoupaging, painting & aging techniques), and create a vintage
    silverware wind chime
  • Gardening Techniques: Learn straw bale gardening, water conservation methods and ideas and tips for container gardening with a focus on window boxes, wall/fence planters and use of repurposed containers
  • Ideas for your Porch or Outdoor Entertaining: shared at meal times

Instructors

Steve Danielson: Landscape designer and installer, constructed all the landscaping that
surrounds the Octagon House today. His creative landscape style incorporates integrated
gardens with the beauty and ambiance of water features including fountains, ponds and
streams. His designs often include features such as arches, pergolas, and private
sanctuaries or outdoor living spaces. His work is featured in both residential and commercial properties in the Twin Cities, Red Wing and Wisconsin. His home gardens and pond in Maplewood have been featured twice on the Minnesota Water Garden Society tour
