Participants spent a summer weekend at the Octagon House learning fabric printing techniques, including gelatin printing, flower pounding, and stenciling. Participants left with two completed projects: a tote bag and silk scarf, and a fabric piece for a small wall hanging.
The instructor was Nancy Bryant, a studio artist who lives in Oregon. In her studio, she creates art quilts, a line of scarves sold in several stores, and a small apparel line. You can view more of her work on her website, Alta Vista Studio.
